Tending Glacier

Everything changes. Everything moves.

She had been thinking about glaciers and their stability just before the moment of calving. This piece could have easily been titled “before things fell apart”. Her partner has been fighting cancer for many years now, so she is tending the glacier – tending to keep the stability in their lives.

After choosing a stone that didn’t quite feel right we settled on this alabaster. With the white, the idea fell into place. The subtitle “Everything changes. Everything moves.” is from a handmade book she gifted me long ago.
